10 Health & Fitness Tips

I love Twitter…great for tips and tricks on every topic.  Here are 10 Fitness Tips from @LoveTheBurnFit, Enjoy!

  1. Triple the number of calories you burn by walking hills! Uphill walks are great for strengthening & shaping your lower half.
  2. EAT! Your body begins to burn calories when you exercise and if you dont eat, your body holds onto the calories it has stored.
  3. Studies show that regular exercise boosts your confidence, even before you see the physical benefits.
  4. 80 minutes of exercise a week prevents the build up of dangerous visceral fat around your organs. That’s just two 40 min. bike rides a week!
  5. DO BREAKFAST RIGHT Skip french toast-a quick rush of simple sugars can leave you tired hours later. Reach for 6oZ of yogurt w/Fruit instead.
  6. Go for oatmeal (Even instant) instead of cereal. Whole oats aren’t processed and are a great source of whole grains.
  7. On the go? Have prepackaged snacks ready throughout your day such as a PROTEIN BAR (Zone Perfect), 12 almonds, string cheese, or an apple!
  8. Snack on almonds before/after your workout and get a powerful lift. They have protein, fiber and vitamin E, plus they’re cholesterol-free!
  9. SLEEP TO LOSE WEIGHT! While asleep your skin grows cells, builds proteins, and REBUILDS MUSCLE. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep every night!
  10. Drink plenty of water! Being hydrated plays a critical role in your body’s ability to burn fat & achieve total fitness.
